How can we move from nuclear threats to more sustainable peace and nuclear arms control? Russian President Vladimir Putin threatens nuclear war and suspended Russian implementation of the New START treaty, the world’s last remaining nuclear arms control guardrails between the world’s two largest nuclear weapons arsenals. Five eminent scholar/practitioners, Ambassador James E. Goodby, Dr. Pierce Corden, Dr. Maryann Love, Dr. Bill Barbieri, and Dr. Richard Love, will reflect on ways forward from current nuclear threats, drawing on their contributions to the newly released book Forbidden: Responding to Pope Francis’ Condemnation of Nuclear Weapons (Georgetown University Press, 2023).
